Cargo Tailoring

Shippers discharging VLCC or ULCC cargoes at Ain Sukhna terminal can tailor their liftings from Sidi Kerir in quantities and types as required by their refineries and FOB customers or to meet destination port size limitations. Through such CARGO TAILORING shippers achieve dual advantages of lower freight and proper logistics.

Stock Transfer

Crude oil while in SUMED's custody can be smoothly transfered among shippers pursuant to their requests, offering a free-of-charge trading tool.
Cargo Topping

In case shipper's stock of a certain type of crude oil at SUMED's custody is less than his Sidi Kerir tanker size, SUMED provides the "CARGO TOPPING" option through advancing the balance so as to help shippers avoid dead freight.
Time & Cost Savings

Both the distance traveled by an oil cargo and the time it spends in transit have a direct impact on its
ultimate cost. Compared to the long journey around the Cape of Good Hope, SUMED is a short–cut to markets especially for Arab Gulf crudes heading Western destinations.
Being only few days away from refining centers in Europe, using SUMED saves refineries the capital cost of building storage tanks or maintaining high inventories to guarantee smooth operations.
Crude Oil Swap

In case the quantities of a shipper's stock of a certain type of crude oil at SUMED's custody is small and ceased to be delivered, SUMED provides the "CRUDE OIL SWAP" option to clear such lagging stock.
Undertaking

Upon a shipper's request and to facilitate financial procedures, SUMED accepts to issue "UNDERTAKING" to a bank designated by shipper. Under such undertaking, the right to release crude is given to such designated bank.

Integrated storage solution

SUMED has built two large storage tank farms, one at each terminal for handling various types of crudes transported while maintaining proper segregation. Moreover, and in light of operation's requirements, SUMED offers spare storage capacity for renting as a tool for augmenting and complementing the logistic needs of crude oil transportation activity through complete and fully integrated storage solutions tailored to satisfy the wide variety of shippers' requirements.
